How to Deal With Annoying People at Work Every company has its share of people who you wish you never met. You don’t want to waste your energy on them but no matter how hard you try, at the end of the day you go home defeated. Here is my advice on how to deal with annoying people at work. You are happy with your job and you are not thinking of changing it any time soon. There is only one problem: a couple of colleagues that get on your nerves so much that you want to scream. They are always complaining about something; about work, about company’s standards, about anything and everything. Nothing is ever good enough and everything is someone else’s fault. On top of being annoying they are also ignorant. They pretend they know everything but when it comes to actually doing their job they are making excuses. You know that you are wasting too much energy on them and that you are enjoying your job less because of them. You would like to learn how to deal with them. You are in the right place because here are some ideas on how to do that.

Do's and Don'ts One nights stand: The dos and don'ts One night stands haven't got the best reputation. But we're not convinced that they're quite as bad as some people think. A one night stand can be fun - it's your chance to go wild for a night. And if you want to sleep with a sexy stranger you've met on a night out, then why not? Guys don't get nearly as much stick for it as us ladies. Now don't get us wrong, we're not suggesting you hop into bed with any hot guy you meet on the dance floor. And yes, you have to be safe (we've got plenty of parent-style keeping safe tips to come, don't you worry). But these days one night stands are pretty commonplace - and can be a lot of fun, as long as you follow these simple rules. Do be safe We told you we were going to go all mum and dad on you, so let's get it out of the way, then we can tell you how you should act in bed and what time you should leave the morning after a one night stand. So, for any one night stand it's important to be safe. That doesn't just mean using a condom - although that is essential, remember even if you're on the pill you can still get STIs.

You can join her on Facebook at facebook.com/AmyPorterfield or read her blog atAmyPorterfield.com. For most of us, football season means it’s time to grab our jerseys and clear our Sunday afternoons. We’re the weekend warriors. But super fans are another breed entirely. They’re the ones who purchase season tickets, paint their faces with team colors and endure below-zero weather to catch every game. Their loyalty is absolute. SEE ALSO: How to Increase Facebook Engagement Using Custom Page Tabs Your brand might already have plenty of weekend warriors on Facebook, but it’s the super fan you want to attract. In terms of purchasing power and word-of-mouth promotion, one super fan trumps a dozen weekend warriors. Moontoast’s “Anatomy of a Fan” infographic identifies different Facebook fans by their level of engagement: Potential fans Engaged fans Advocate fans Purchasing fans Super Fans ― the best of the best. They are the fans that have given you data permissions, purchased from you, and sparked other fan’s purchases. If we look at these levels as stages, we can take a more sophisticated approach to Facebook marketing. Engaged fans are great, but advocates are better. And even 1,000 engaged fans are no match for 100 super fans. Here are four ways to start moving your fans through the ranks.

Ultimate Halloween Peanut Butter Oreo Brownie Bar AKA The OMG Illegal-in-48-States Ultimate Insane Brownie. I’ve been seeing these new white chocolate candy corn Halloween M&Ms pop up all over my favorite food blogs recently, and I knew I had to get my hands on some! I had no idea what to expect. Did they taste like white chocolate? Candy corn? M&Ms? I was totally intrigued, so at 10 pm on Friday night, Jenny and I decided on the spur of the moment to go on the hunt all over Nashville in search of these mysterious candies. Just another a day in the crazy life of two sweet shoppers! (Make sure you check out Jenny’s yummy dessert with the same M&M’s today too!)

Keep Your Account Safe My fellow FanBoxers: I have a very important announcement to make today. It involves your FanBox account, your money and your FanBox Bank. About 6 weeks ago, you may remember that I made a post that discussedhow many of our FanBoxer friends were getting their accounts taken over by hackers. Of course that was completely unacceptable for us as a community to sit, watch and witness. Since then, I have made very few new blog posts. Why? Where did I disappear to? We have been feverishly (but quietly) developing and implementing a variety of products and technologies to keep your account safe. Many of the new features & technologies are already live and are protecting your accounts in ways that I cannot discuss publicly here. (You may or may not have already noticed some of them). However, I'm prepared to share with you some exciting news that I am sure you'll enjoy: A new product launch will soon protect you in ways that were never before possible. Soon you will notice something new at the top right of your homepage, called your Profile Completeness: One of the important steps to achieving 100% Profile Completeness, is to Keep Your Account Safe. The first step of Keep Your Account Safe is to Add your Mobile Number. By adding your mobile number, you can rest assured that if any large purchases or cash outs are made from your account, you will be notified via text message (SMS) on your mobile phone. Adding your mobile number gives you peace of mind: If a hacker ever takes over your account, they won't get very far! Also, if you forget your password, you can use your mobile phone to reset your password and sign back in. The next step of Keep Your Account Safe is to Create Your FanBox Bank:

Music Artists Now
Carrie Underwood With more than 14 million albums sold worldwide, 14 No. 1 singles, with six as co-writes, five Grammys, and countless other accolades—all achieved with three albums in less than seven years—Carrie Underwood remains ever-passionate, fueled by a restless creative spirit, good-natured competitive streak, and abundance of God-given talent. And now, Carrie unleashes her most ambitious project yet with Blown Away. Teaming again with producer Mark Bright, Carrie delivers a 14-song collection that covers a particularly vast expanse of emotional territory. She celebrates the understated pleasures of small-town living in “Thank God For Hometowns” and explores the exquisite fragility of life in “Forever Changed.” She’s not averse to tackling abuse and betrayal then doling out a little sweet revenge with such compelling tracks as “Blown Away” and “Two Black Cadillacs.” Musically the songs range from rollicking up-tempo anthems, such as her smash first single “Good Girl” to the island-flavored escape of “One Way Ticket” and the steel guitar-laced country lament of “Wine After Whiskey.” Such musical and lyrical diversity is the foundation of Carrie’s artistry. After all, this is a young woman who in the past year has performed with Steven Tyler on a top-rated edition of CMT’s Crossroads, scored a No. 1 country hit with good friend Brad Paisley on “Remind Me,” and sang with the iconic Tony Bennett on this year’s Grammy telecast, delivering the classic “It Had To Be You,” their collaboration on Bennett’s Duets II album. The Oklahoma native is a fan of all types of music, yet she’s purposefully planted herself in the country format, even while her eclectic tastes have influenced her creative output. She’s been careful to not get pigeonholed and prides herself on not being predictable. “I feel like I’ve taken all of my albums into as many different directions as possible while still keeping them cohesive,” she says. “I love this album from start to finish and love every song on it. There’s not one single song that’s like another song I’ve ever done. I think it’s my best album. I really do think there’s something for everyone.” Her ability to be unique yet accessible has been crucial to Carrie’s career from the beginning. She became America’s sweetheart in 2005 when she won the fourth season of American Idol, a vehicle that transformed her from a shy Oklahoma girl with a great voice to a budding superstar. Since then she’s become the popular franchise’s most successful alum. She’s won a vast array of awards including three female vocalist awards from both the Country Music Association (CMA) and the Academy of Country Music (ACM). In 2010, when Carrie garnered her second win as ACM Entertainer of the Year, she became the first female artist to win the award twice, and only the 7th female to take the award in the 40-year history of the ACM category, among Loretta Lynn, Dolly Parton, Barbara Mandrell, Reba McEntire, Shania Twain, and the Dixie Chicks. Thanks to her past wins for the categories of Entertainer of the Year, Top Female Vocalist, and Top New Female Vocalist, Carrie also received the ACM Triple Crown Award, which has been won by only one other female artist—Barbara Mandrell in 2004. In addition to the above, Carrie’s won 6 American Music Awards, 6 People’s Choice Awards, 7 CMT Music Awards, 9 American Country Awards, and 7 BMI Songwriter Awards. Carrie also received a Golden Globe nomination in 2010 for Best Original Song for “There’s A Place For Us,” which she recorded and co-wrote for Chronicles Of Narnia: Voyage Of The Dawn Treader. Carrie’s 2005 debut Some Hearts topped Billboard’s Country Albums chart for 27 weeks, has sold over 7 million copies, and was voted No. 1 Country Album of the Decade by Billboard. Her 2007 sophomore album, Carnival Ride, and 2009’s Play On each debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s country and all-genre album charts. Over the course of three albums, she’s saturated country radio with such hits as “Jesus, Take The Wheel,” “Before He Cheats,” “So Small,” “Last Name,” “Just A Dream,” “Cowboy Casanova,” “Temporary Home,” “All-American Girl,” “Undo It,” and “Mama’s Song.” Carrie’s highly acclaimed concert tours have further helped to establish her into the elite status of the country music community, or in any genre of music, with her stellar performances. In 2008, after wrapping her “Carnival Ride Tour” she became the top-selling country female touring artist of the year, selling out many of her 137 shows before 1.2 million fans. In that year, Carrie also became the most-heard artist at country radio and was named the No. 1 Hot Country Songs Artist by Billboard and No. 1 Top Country Artist by Radio & Records. In 2010, her next headline arena tour, the “Play On Tour,” played 108 shows with one million fans attending, which resulted in Carrie being named again as the top-ranked female country touring artist of the year. In 2012, in support of Blown Away, Carrie will headline another major international tour, which will no doubt be one of the hottest tickets of the year. Carrie is a proud member of the Grand Ole Opry and expanded her résumé making her acting debut in the 2011 film Soul Surfer. She can be seen in print and TV ads as the North American face of Olay beauty products, and has a long-running deal with vitaminwater®. One of country music’s most respected young ambassadors, Carrie has served as co-host of the CMA Awards with Brad Paisley the past four years. Yet for those who think they know Carrie, Blown Away is likely to catch them by surprise, particularly the cinematic title track with its swirling, atmospheric production and intense lyric about abuse and revenge. “I got chills,” she says of the first time she heard the Josh Kear/Chris Tompkins penned stunner. “I remember where I was when I heard it and called my manager and said, ‘Do not let anyone else have this song. It’s my song.’ It’s such a visual song. You listen to it and you can see everything that is happening. It’s so dramatic. I’m not a drama person, but when you can make a movie in song form in 3 and a half minutes, it’s surreal.” “Blown Away” finds a daughter getting revenge on an abusive, alcoholic father and the next song, “Two Black Cadillacs,” also has a larger-than-life cinematic

When sedentary people are tired, there is only one cure: take a nap; therefore most people think that there is just one kind of tiredness. In fact, there are really many ways to become tired, all of them alike in producing fatigue or lost of energy, but each type of tiredness has its own cause, consequence, and cure. It is extremely important for the cyclist to be able to diagnose which kind of fatigue is occurring and to respond with the appropriate countermeasures before severe side effects result. Drowsiness 1) Drowsiness, the most common form of tiredness, is caused by lack of sleep. The symptoms are yawning, a nodding head, dreaminess, and a slight reduction in energy. To a cyclist, this is the least important cause of fatigue, but it can still reduce speed by a mile or two per hour. The only cure is a nap, although people sometimes use drugs to keep alert longer. Several cyclists reported nearly falling asleep or hallucinating. Definitely, stop for a nap under these circumstances; recent reports suggest that other methods for staying awake are not safe. Also, if there is no real cause for being drowsy or the problem is persistent, see a sleep disorder specialist. Skin Burn (Sun Burn or Wind Burn) 2) Skin burn is caused by too much sun and occasionally by too much wind. The symptoms are red or redden skin that's hot to the touch, a washed out feeling, and mild dizziness. Wind burn only produces mild effects, but sunburn can be life-threatening and is a leading cause of cancer. Even the mild forms are much worst than missing a few hours sleep. Skin burn can easily be prevented through the use of sunscreen, clothing (and hats), and by limiting solar exposure, especially by stopping during the middle of the day. The only cure for skin burn is slow healing, although skin creams can help. Heart Fatigue 3) Heart fatigue is caused by pushing too hard for your fitness level. The symptoms are a pounding heart, gasping for breath, lack of energy on hills, a feeling of internal stress, and becoming flush with heat. This problem is more likely to occur after traveling beyond the normal distance and is most likely to show up when climbing a hill. The cure is to stop, cool down, take a break, and give the heart a chance to recover. Prevention can come from cycling at a slower pace or by training up to a higher fitness level.
Touching Stories 2012
Touching Stories 2012 When my grandmother, Zelda, passed away a few years ago at the age of 90, she left me with a box of miscellaneous items from her house that she knew I had grown to appreciate over the years. Among these items is an old leather-bound journal that she aptly named her ‘Inspiration Journal.’ Throughout the second half of her life, she used this journal to jot down ideas, thoughts, quotes, song lyrics, and anything else that moved her. She would read excerpts from her journal to me when I was growing up, and I would listen and ask questions. I honestly credit a part of who I am now to the wisdom she bestowed on me when I was young. Today I want to share some of these inspiring excerpts with you. I’ve done my best to sort, copyedit, and reorganize the content into twelve inspiring bullet points. Enjoy. Breathe in the future, breathe out the past. No matter where you are or what you’re going through, always believe that there is a light at the end of the tunnel. Never expect, assume, or demand. Just do your best, control the elements you can control, and then let it be. Because once you have done what you can, if it is meant to be, it will happen, or it will show you the next step that needs to be taken. Life CAN be simple again. Just choose to focus on one thing at a time. You don’t have to do it all, and you don’t have to do it all right now. Breathe, be present, and do your best with what’s in front of you. What you put into life, life will eventually give you back many times over. ReadThe Power of Now

Blog Network
Blog Network We've all been taught that trust and reputation are important elements of branding. Today, though, trust is not simply a nice thing to have, but a critical strategic asset. Therefore, it makes sense to be specific about how and why it adds value. The drivers of brand value have changed over time, and there are three forces at play that have brought the issue of trust to the center stage: 1. If we look at company valuations, an increasing portion of a firm's value resides in intangibles. InThe Brand Bubble, John Gerzema and Edward Lebar highlight the fact that in the 1950s, about 30% of firm value was intangible (at the high end); today it is closer to 62% globally. Let's look at some of the components of intangible value. Gerzema and Lebar offer this construct: Sources of Intangible Value Brand: Brands, trademarks, customer goodwill, company reputation Market Position: Contracts, licenses, legal monopolies, customer lists Business System: Organizational models, software investment, proprietary process, franchise rights Knowledge: R&D, patents, human capital, IP If we look at these from the perspective of trust, there is a really interesting pattern. The bottom two components, business system and knowledge — with items like R&D, patents, business systems and proprietary processes — really speak to how well companies are able to mobilize people and build trust inside the company. Companies cannot get these outcomes by simply hiring bright people or paying them a lot of money. They must create an environment in which people can work well together and where they are engaged with
Health Crank It Up
Health Crank It Up Crank It Up: Sprinting Towards Single Digit Body Fat Percentages With High Intensity Training The relationship between sprinting and a rock-solid physique is why strength coach Erick Minor put together the program in this article. He thinks it’s such a damn shame that so few bodybuilders actually sprint anymore. It’s one of the few fat burning activities that can actually build muscle tissue instead of catabolizing it, and it’s easy to do; just find a track and run! Well, and maybe read this first… Look around a track and field event sometime and you’ll notice the relationship between sprinters and bodybuilders actually goes both ways, meaning a lot of full-time sprinters also have damn impressive bodies! Not surprisingly, their training off the track is remarkably similar to that of a hard-lifting bodybuilder. Okay, quiz time…. What’s the most foolproof way to increase an athlete’s performance? “Increase his VO2 max?” Nope. “Uh, improve one-arm Kettlebell snatch on a Bosu ball performance?” Hell no. Well… The most reliable way to increase any athlete’s performance is to improve his or her strength-to-weight ratio, which is a fancy way of saying minimizing the amount of bodyfat the athlete carries while maintaining or adding lean body mass. Typically, any athlete with a favorable muscle to fat ratio is likely to have higher relative strength. High levels of relative strength are necessary in many sports for world-class success. The same rules apply for recreational athletes or guys who just want to look good naked. With the exception of a handful of pure strength sports, a leaner body will perform better and faster, not to mention look better when the clothes come off. So when an athlete or weekend warrior rolls into my facility, how do I go about improving anaerobic performance, maintaining and/or increasing maximal strength, and reducing body fat? Well, the first thing you have to understand is what I don’t do. Some of you may know that I don’t recommend steady-state “aerobic” exercise for the conditioning of any athlete. Let me be blunt here: The only athletes that should perform low intensity cardio such as jogging are distance runners, tri-athletes, or someone needing to lose muscle tissue. Yes, you read right, unless your goal is to have LESS lean muscle mass, the hamster wheel approach to energy system work is not for you. For maximum body composition and anaerobic performance improvements, the modality of choice is sprinting. A well-designed sprint program will create significant losses of body fat and at the same time increase your anaerobic work capacity and posterior chain development. So less fat, better lungs, and a dead-sexy butt that will make the nymphets and cougars come crawling. What more could you ask for? The Sprinter’s Body – Nature vs. Nurture Pound for pound, sprinters are some of the leanest
